According to Freud, we have this so-called “Erogenous zone” which is a part of our body that receives pleasure. It is in any part of our body that when sometimes touch or anything done to it, we feel this electrifying pleasure. And when that pleasure in that body part where triggered, it is already called “Sex”. So, technically, if your erogenous zone is in your arm, and when someone let’s just say accidentally touched your arm and then you feel pleasure, then you and that someone who touch your arm already had sex.
Everything you want, everything you desire, everything that wants pleasure within you, all of it was being dictated by your id. The id acts according to the pleasure principle, seeking to avoid pain or unpleasure aroused by increases in instinctual tension. So basically, your own libido was being controlled by your id. Now, the ego which acts according to the reality principle is the one who is responsible to your id happy. It is pro reality and the one who will decide which is the thing to do. It is often dictated or torn between the id (the one who needs pleasing) and the super ego which acts according to moral principle. Freud developed his concept of the super-ego from an earlier combination of the ego ideal and the “special psychical agency which performs the task of seeing that narcissistic satisfaction from the ego ideal is ensured…what we call our ‘conscience’.” So eventually, there will be conflict between your id and ego, id and super ego because due to sometimes choosing what should do and what shouldn’t. The super-ego aims for perfection. It comprises that organised part of the personality structure, mainly but not entirely unconscious, that includes the individual’s ego ideals, spiritual goals, and the psychic agency that criticizes and prohibits his or her drives, fantasies, feelings, and actions. Too bad for ego.. it will be a very difficult decision. That’s why, oftentimes you hurt your ego.
